Mountain Dew and Imagaination

Long time no post and for good reason,  My dreams have come true.

My new view.

my blues and purples and pinks

orange, yellow and blues.
My day today was spent in lots of color.  Rainbows of color, dyes, fabric and the wonder of it all.  It is so exciting to see the results of surprise parfair dying.  Do I have a quilt in mind?  Yes, I do, I love the wonder of the lake, seaweed, or should I say Lakeweed, browm muscrats, fish with tinged of blue/green flash, white m\n grey ospray's, brown/green ducks, black n white canadian geese and blue sky and tan sand, lush green trees, lime green weeds and purple flowers.  My DREAM come true!   I am here and this is mine, all mine and paid for!.  Ownership is such a wonderful thing.  Thank you GOD!.  and Thank you Helen and Irene!.

I got permission to blog about my fabulously funny son-in-law!

Posted by PicasaHere is my secret to great tomatoes,
1st- get your fabulously funny son-in-law (from now on called FFS) to think he can become a suburban farmer.
2nd - He plants three kinds of tomatoes, Better Boys, Early Girls and something else!.  They don't grow as fast as he would like (this was back in MARCH) So he throws them away.
3rd - He gets a grow lamp and sets up a trial heat and lighted room in his spare bedroom.
4th - They now grow too fast and furious!  Yes, like my Mitisbishi Spyder was!
5th - Now what, I said to pinch them.
6th- The science researcher that he is, did his internet research and said I was wrong, You only pinch flowers not tomatoes.  (Well, whatever, I said)
7th - My dear daughter (from now on called DD) starts to worry about the mold that is growning in her spare bedroom next to the baby boy's bedroom (from now on called BB)
8th-FFS thinks maybe DD is right and wants to be a good father to BB, so he moves his suburban growing light contraption to the basement with the heater.
THEY CONTINUE TO GROW- FFS moves the light up
THEY CONTINUE TO GROW -FFS moves the light up again
DD takes them out side!
They all fall down! FFS throws some more plants away.
FFS repots the rest of them and props them up with wire.
He buys some new tomatoes from the nearest nursery.
DD calls me and says"Hurry, come pick up these plants and plant them"
The great mother-in-law that I am, drives over right away and notices that they are so leggy and almost falling over again.  DD says it is the wind! She also says there were more here this morning.  I looked in the garbage can and YEP- FFS threw 4 more plants away.  I crack up.  I pick three she says I can have.
FFS says those were the wrong ones, I put 4 aside for her especially.  They were on the left side.
9th - I plant the three lonely leggy tomatoe plants. I names them Adian, Emma, & Adeline.  And, oh yeah, Joe (my DH) feeds them the right stuff.

STAY TURNED FOR MORE!

http://
Get your own fairy names from The Fairy Name Generator! My fairy name is Nettle Hailfrost
She protects and comforts the lonely.
She lives in brambles and blackberry bushes.
She can only be seen during the first snow of winter.
She wears purple and green like berries and leaves and has cheery turquoise wings like a butterfly.

Where does the time go!

I'm angry at myself.  The days passed so quickly in April and now it is May without much to show for it.  I painted the Living Room "Seattle Grey", changed my draperies to grommett grey drapes, changed the furniture around and added shells in my lantern on the mantle.  My Sewing Studio has been moved to upstairs in the back bedroom because I purchased a brown sofa bed for my mother if she needs it due to her worsening dementia in my old studio/diningroom.  Sounds like I accomplished alot, but mostly have been at the computer playing facebook games-hours on end and it's getting worst.  The weather has been so dreary, cloudy and rainy- I JUST FEEL GREY!
But it is May now-April Showers bring May Flowers-golden daffadils, ruby red tulips, white star magnolas and the beautiful rose pink magnolas.  Yes, it brightens the little corners they live in, but without the yellow light they just don't shine.  DULLNESS.  Bring on the Sunshine, Bees and Butterflies! Oh it would help if the gas prices came down, presently at $4.19.

To all my many Friends

A whole day for Art- I snow dyed fabric and  made lollipops for the Smashees Workshop I am taking from Shelagh Folgate from England.  Also I have been painting my Living Room a Light/Medium Grey called Seattle Gray from Benjamin Moore. .  Everyone thinks I am nuts because it is so grey here in Northwest Ohio.  But I love it, It is clean and Contempary looking.

Lollipops made from Paper Water Soluable sewing and torn paper inked with Tee Juice. I love this look.

Wool Roving on Fabric Water Soluable to be sewn and made into lollipops too.

I started a new 2011 Art Blog.  This will showcase my art work and Future.  I will continue making my dreams come true a personal blog, but my professional artistic blog will be under the enclosed link.  Please become a friend and always leave comments because I really appreciate them.
I have had a busy holiday with lots of company, parties, and fabulous grandbabies.  Family is so cool.

I love December!

Cold, Clouds, Sun and snow flurries on the ground, gotta love flannel PJ's, wood fire, Early Grey Tea, Christmas shopping till ya drop and sewing, sewing, sewing surprises..  It is December and not much snow yet in this part of the world, but I have dug out my cross country ski's out and plan on using them this year.  I purchased a Baby Lock Embellisher and have been using it.  It is so delightful, the textures, the fibers and the ease of discovery and creative challenges.  My mind goes overtime with the "what if I did this, what if I did that"?  I am also researching what to teach at the "So Many Stitches" sewing shop where I purchased my machine.  http://www.sewmanystitches.com/   My First Thoughts for classes are something that is useable, so I made a felted scarf, a fibert art silk scarf, and small felted box and a winter scene artwork.  After playing and designing, I feel people need to unlease there hidden talents, let the creative juices flow, push the way you normally do things, dream up the "what if's"  If this could be learned, then your life becomes a new adventure, with exploring, experiementing and discovering.  Stay tuned for new pictures, new ideas and maybe even a free on line class in my blog to mirror the class at Sew Many Stitches.
